So an update on my current situation. A few weeks back, I was told that I needed to be moved out of my apartment by the end of the week. I started a drive to try and get commissions so that I can earn money for a security deposit toward a new place. And with great disappointment, I have not been able to reach my goal. So far only two people have commissioned me…
So I had to go to my landlord and practically beg them to allow me til the end of April to find a new place, and earn the money I need to move out. I think they were in a nice mood, because they gave me the extension. But I MUST be out by the end of April, or else I’m one homeless

The first official collaboration between Yuko Ota and myself. I made the mistake of sitting her in front of my computer last night to doodle and she started drawing this amazingly trashy romance cover. Instead of moving on with our lives, however, together we put together this picture. I apologize to all of humanity for it.
Most of the line art is Yuko and most of the colors are mine. Also, the contorted spine is very much intentional.
So, this is a thing that happened last night? I’ve been threatening to draw Kim and Balthazar in a romance novel cover for a while now, and then Aaron told me to draw something on his cintiq, and then I did, and then I Aaron and I were hanging out until 2AM finishing it… so, uh.

Why did I draw her firebending? It took like, 2 hours longer because of that…
I can’t believe this picture got so much controversy. I mean, she’s enveloped in fire. That typically causes things to become bathed in bright light. But, somehow, someone out there thought this was “whitewashing” Korra. Nothing about her looks white (as in the ethnicity). At all. In fact, you can see her skin tone very clearly in the shadow underneath her chin. I wish people would learn a little more about color theory and lighting (or maybe take the time to observe lighting in action) before attacking artists willy-nilly. And lets not even mention the fact that the artist is mostly Asian.
The poor artist is worn out from all the bickering, but I just wanted to share the image itself. Its so well done~
